INTERNATIONAL SHOWING SOCIETY

Royal London Show

2nd-4th September 2011
Onley Grounds Equestrian Complex, Willoughby,
Nr. Rugby, Warwicks CV23 8AJ

Schedule

Important Information for Competitors
Welcome to the Royal London Show 2011. We are delighted to say that support for the show continues to increase, so we have again spread the classes over three days. We are looking forward to settling in to our new permanent venue, and hope that this year’s Royal London will be the best ever. We hope we have provided something for everyone, and look forward to seeing you on the day.

Qualification
If you have qualified your horse for the Championship classes, you should enclose the top half of your qualification card, with your horse’s name on, with your entry. If you have a new style card, you will have sent this to us already. Once a particular horse has been qualified, you may then enter any other appropriate Championship class without additional qualification. For example - you have qualified your native pony in a ridden class, you may also enter the in hand section.  Or – you have qualified a skewbald shetland in a shetland class, you may also enter the M&M and the coloured sections if you wish. This will give you extra chances to go forward to the evening Championships. YOU ONLY NEED ONE QUALIFICATION CARD PER HORSE.

Entries and Registration
Registration with the I. S. S. is compulsory for exhibitors in Championship classes, and will be available on the day for those qualifying in the late qualifiers. Please note that this applies to all owners, riders and handlers. Entry fees will be at the ordinary rate for those qualifying on the day. If you have pre-entered before closing date, you may also enter additional classes on the day at the normal fee.

Timetable
The enclosed timetable is provisional, and we reserve the right to revise this after closing date depending on entries received. If this should be the case, you will be sent an amended timetable before show day. We ask you to be prompt for your classes – this helps us to help you by not running late. No entry fees will be refunded for missed classes. A great deal of time has been spent working out the scheduling and none of you should find your classes clash. In the unlikely event that you should be needed in two places at once, please communicate with the stewards in both rings; every effort will be made to help you if possible but classes will not be held up, as this affects everyone else’s timings. No entry fees will be refunded in the case of missed classes.

Stabling
Stabling will be available on the showground from Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th  September. Please see the enclosed Stable Booking Form for prices.  Please note that you should return your stable booking form directly to Onley Grounds, NOT to the Royal London Office. If you have any special requirements, you should make arrangements directly with Onley Grounds at the address shown on the booking form. Stabling will be allocated strictly on a first-come first-served basis, so we advise you to get your entries in early if you need stables. If you think you may qualify for the evening performance, or if you would like to stay and watch anyway, you are advised to book stabling at the time of entry. It may not be possible to accommodate late qualifiers at short notice, although every effort will be made to do so.

Numbers
Numbers should be collected from the Secretary’s desk in the indoor arena.

Dress & Conduct
The International Showing Society believes in upholding traditional standards and values of dress and conduct. Anyone entering any ring should be appropriately dressed – including a HAT or CAP;  this includes stewards, and grooms in ridden classes.  All exhibitors and their connections should conduct themselves in a polite and courteous manner while on the showground. No abuse, whether verbal or physical, towards any other competitor, official, judge, steward, or animal will be tolerated. Anyone found guilty of this type of offence will be barred from the International Showing Society for a period to be determined, and asked to leave the showground. The decision of the Organisers shall be final in such a case and no entry fee will be refunded.
Please respect the venue and the staff who have to keep it clean and tidy; dispose of any rubbish carefully,  and do not skip out lorries  in the car parks.

Evening Performance
Competitors qualifying for the Evening Performances will be given a WHITE card in the ring which will indicate when and where the Pre-Judging will take place.  This is to avoid any confusion. Please note that you MUST attend your Pre-Judging if you wish to take part in the evening performance. We would like to advise you that there will be music (sometimes quite loud), spotlights and flash photography in the Evening Performances, and that competitors should wear appropriate evening dress.

Hats
Anyone wishing to wear a non-standard hat while mounted may do so provided that they sign a disclaimer at the Secretary’s desk, and on the understanding that no liability will be accepted by the Royal London Show  organisers in the event of any accident.
Children 16 years and under
must wear an appropriate British Standard hat at all times while mounted.
Children aged 16 – 18 years old
must have a disclaimer signed by a parent or guardian if they wish to wear a non-standard hat.
Children aged 14 years and under
must wear an appropriate British Standard hat while showing in In Hand classes.

Championship Judging
Please be advised that all Championships will be pre-judged outside again this year. This will ensure that your judge has enough time to do a thorough job and get the right result. You will be given a WHITE card in the ring which will tell you where and when to arrive for pre-judging.

PLEASE NOTE NEW RULING:
IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT YOU ATTEND FOR YOUR PRE-JUDGING.

We have spread these out through the afternoon to make this easier for you. It is acceptable to present your horse with a different handler or rider than the one who qualified it if necessary,  as at Royal London  it is always the HORSE/PONY that is being judged. If you should still have a clash, you MUST make arrangements with the Stewards in the relevant rings to get your horse seen by the judges; if you fail to show up you will NOT be given your RED card, and you will NOT be allowed to take part in the Evening Performance. It is NOT FAIR to expect your judge, in the short time allowed in the Indoor Arena, to judge horses he/she has not pre-judged earlier. You will not be told the results at this time; you will all go forward to the Evening Performance as usual, where you will go round for the benefit of the spectators and line up; results will then be announced and awards presented.

Home Produced and Restricted Classes
These classes are designed to give a more level playing field for our grass-roots competitors, for whom this is possibly their first major Championship show. It is hoped that exhibitors will enter these classes in the spirit in which they are intended, guidelines are as follows:
